Hello world!

I don’t take very many selfies but I had to find a picture of me that showed my personality and I came up with this one!

So I have now done the thing that has been on my bucket list for years…a blog! I have always wanted to share my adventures with the world and now I am finally doing it. Many people have said why on earth would you do a blog, no one will read it? I want this to be a place that you can see new experiences that you might like to try, new restaurants, different cultures, new travel ideas! Feel free to ask questions as I post things in the future.

Now I need to set the stage with a history lesson on DD so you can see how I got to this blog. I am a single mom and have been for 13 years now with two amazing teenagers. When I got divorced in 2010 I had to figure myself out again, who I was, what I liked and learn to be comfortable being alone. If you have ever seen Runaway Bride with Julia Roberts you will know what I am referring to. I made a decision that if I still wanted to truly LIVE my life I better be okay eating, traveling and living life to the fullest on my own. I didn’t want to miss out on things just because I might have to do it solo. Then, I took baby steps to conquer the terrible solo giant and overcome what is probably most people’s fear, doing things alone. I hope you stay tuned I have a fun trip I am embarking on tomorrow!
